History of Steampunk Clothing

Steampunk BlousesPunk fashion is much more than modified Victorian clothing, industrial goggle and brass watches. Many people ignore the impact of steampunk clothing but the fact is this style of clothing has hugely affected the whole genre of people belonging to a sub-culture called steampunk. Steampunk dresses are the reflection of individuality and style of people belonging to this subgroup. Their ideas of punk costume include brash colors and venturesome designs. Modern day punk costumes are improvised version of 1980’s punk costumes. Inspite of all accusations and allegations these costumes are the best way of carrying forward the legacy of Victorian era while remaining ultra modern.
All punk clothes are not the sign of rebellious nature that other presume. The punk lifestyle is so much based on design concepts that not only their steampunk clothes even their hairstyle are different form regular styles. Also designing patterns are not limited to their clothes and hair; in their bodies too you will find tattoos of all shapes and sizes in many designs. May be people think that technically modified Victorian style dresses are unsophisticated and casual but in reality numerous people adopted punk style of clothing to show their individuality as regular clothing only aims to provide the same but couldn’t achieve it.
Since origin steampunk clothing is rolling between punks and rock bands. Several rockers have followed this style of clothing. Ramones, Green Day and Blink – 182 are a few name among many existing punk rock bands who took punk clothing. Ramones were the creator of punk rock band while Blink -182 further carried the legacy of Ramones. Punk music of Green Day was on exposing side of government, politics, and religion. It means they had something rebellious inside them against the prevailing rules of society that is why they jumped upon steampunk clothing and punk style rock music to show their agony.
Punk sub-culture are adopted by those people who want to leave the way they want and take dig at existing rules that drive the world. It’s somewhat right that punk sub-culture is not in its peak as it was in 1980 but there is very strong alternative following in fashion and lifestyle. Many international fashion designers have made punk style clothing like steampunk corsets and steampunk gowns as the theme of their dress in fashion shows. There are other people also who don’t share the punk ideology but wear punk dresses because they like it.Steampunk Dresses
Steampunk is the genre of fantasy, fiction and Victorian era history, a philosophy in itself that drift people away from the invisible boundaries which have been put up around. It doesn’t involve in anarchism and nihilism that prevailed during Goth movement rather it induces positivity among people.
Now today you will find mixture of sub-cultures. Somewhere punk sub culture has been tangled or mixed with other subcultures giving us a complete new version of clothing for instance Goth clothing, psychobilly clothing, skate clothing and newly revived steampunk clothing which has the flavor of 1970’s and 1980’s with the essence of steampunk dressing, Victorian clothing and steampunk clothing.
