Steampunk subgenre is the fictional view of Victorian era, a science fiction of steam age. Set in the nineteenth century technology and scientific fantasies, punk people dwells the dream of reinventing the modern scientific achievements for instance computers because the people of that period could only think of these highly advance things. The terms steampunk was coined by author K.W. Jeter who was in search of word for the works of other writers’ on fictional novels and literature such as The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers and Homunculu by James Blaylock which have the set up of Victorian Europe.
The term steampunk is coined from two words Steam and Punk. Steam for defining the power like steam engine has and punk part of the word is for showing the rebellious or dam care attitude of steampunk people. Although one’s attitude and thinking contribute to this subgenre lifestyle but the main contribution comes from steampunk clothing, it has become the way flaunting punk styled living mannerism.
The whole philosophy of steampunk is based on Victorian era including the costumes also. Steampunk dresses are the innovatively modified costume of nineteenth century.
